Why should get evidence to appeal a student loan decision?

You should get evidence and appeal a student finance decision if:

  • your student finance application was rejected
  • your student loan is too low
  • your student loan does not reflect your circumstances

To see exactly what information Student Finance was working with when they made their decision, you can send a Subject Access Request (or SAR).

This means that if you'll be prepared with all of the information they have when you appeal.

What's that?

A Subject Access Request, or ‘SAR’ is a written request that you send to a company asking to see your personal data.
