Update your contact details with companies in one go. It's fast and completely free.

Easily tell companies that you've changed your contact details by sending them a 'rectification request' below today.

Why should I update my personal details?

You should update your personal and contact details with companies if it's out of date or it bothers you.

This is because you may:

  • Be receiving communications that use an old name
  • Miss important post
  • Accidentally order items to an old address
  • Be vulnerable to identity theft, or
  • Simply want to update your details

Many people find the process of updating their details with companies lengthy, difficult and time-consuming. It doesn't have to be. You can update your name, address, email, and mobile number in one go.

To change the contact details a company has listed for you, you can use your 'right to rectification' for free through Rightly.

What's my right to rectification?

Your right to rectification means that you can tell any organisation that has your personal data to update it for free. It comes from GDPR, which applies in the UK and EU.

This applies for your name, address, gender or anything else you'd like to correct. It's your personal data after all.

What's that?

Personal data is any information that can directly or indirectly identify you as you. Think address, beliefs, and financial records.

Sending a rectification request can help you make your data work for you.

You can:

  • stop companies sending packages and communication to the wrong place
  • take control of your personal data
  • save time by sending multiple requests at once

How do I send a rectification request?

The easiest way to update your details is by sending a request through Rightly.

  1. Press 'get started' above and search for the companies you'd like to contact
  2. Enter your old and new contact details, leaving any that are the same blank
  3. Send your request

If you can't find the one that you want, please contact our customer support team - they'd be happy to help!

How long until a company responds to my request?

After the company has received your request, they have to reply in full within 30 days, or give a valid reason for asking for an extension. If this happens, our support team is here to help!

What if they refuse to update my details?

Don't worry, you can tell any company to correct inaccurate personal data, even if you don't know for sure whether or not they have it. They have to confirm with you what they have and that they've updated them. This is thanks again to your ‘right of rectification’ under GDPR law.

What if I’m not sure if they have my data?

You can still ask them. If they don’t have it, they have to let you know.

Why Rightly?

We’re free because our mission is to make data fairer, for everyone.

We don't use consumer data for commercial purposes, which means we'll never, ever sell your data. It also means that there are no adverts or hidden costs.
